Deep in the Chilean jungle, normal pipe laying techniques are not possible, and decisions must be made on the run.
When this skilled welding crew got to site, they realised that the engineers had forgotten to let them know an integral piece of information – there was no room on the forest floor to weld the pipe together.
Welding 400mm SDR11 in the middle of a jungle would have been challenging enough, but these guys really thought outside the box. Instead of calling it a day, they raised their eyes to the trees and found the solution.
Thanks to the ingenuity of the contractor, and their confidence that worldpoly equipment would take it, they hoisted the gear up off the ground on scaffolding, and got the job done safely and efficiently.
